The track

After doing an excellent job on race control for all the racing so far, Kev Gray raced in Eurosport.    For the fastest class, we have to thank Andy Brown Searle and David Sargent for maintaining the high standard of  race control.

The qualifying order was again seeded from the qualifying times in the previous class, this time the really quick driver running surprisingly early was James Cleave, and he set the pace a millisecond inside 4.5 seconds with 17 drivers still to run.   Paul Shepherd came close to take second with 10 left to run, in fact Shep remained  second of the British drivers, but a lap of 4.326 put Antonin Vojtik top by quite some margin.

So to the finals, Ben Woodward won the E final on 242 from Kev Gray. Matthew Siddall was the D final winner some 11 laps up on Ben's time.  A really quick run in the C final saw Alan Lucas win on 271.   Ross Grogan's B final time produced 270 in the B final,  setting up a Scottish 1-2 for the A finalists to aim at.  In the A final Brian Saunders was the early leader, with Antonin starting on the slow black lane.  Antonin took the lead in segment 3, and James Cleave was close to Brian. Antonin extended his lead to win by 5 laps, second place went to James who overtook Brian in the final segment.

Ross Grogan takes a healthy Championship lead to the final 1/24 BOC round at Newcastle. Two drivers who could challenge for the title if they do well enough at the final round are James Cleave and Brian Saunders.

Thanks again to the Sargent family  for organizing the meeting and thanks to everybody who helped make it such a sucess.  Don't forget the Club Team Championship/ Production Challenge on September 12th & 13th.
