  1/24 Open Group 12

From 1st January 2001 cars in the BSCRA 1/24 Open Group 12 class  must have bodies from the approved list.  At the 1/24 Nationals the racers voted for bodies with less downforce (and more scale appearance) asking for the endplate length to be reduced to 30mm (from 66mm). At the ACM in March 2000  it was agreed that only closed bodies will be eligible from 1st January 2001, however a postal vote in December 2000 reversed this decision so both open and closed bodies are eligible.

The following lists are updated as new bodies are introduced. Any further bodies that may be submitted for approval, will be added if and when the BSCRA Body Approval Committee has confirmed they fit the required dimensions and are sufficiently reasonable representations of the full size car.

 1/24 Eurosport

At the 2003 ACM, BSCRA agreed to introduce a new list of approved bodies for 1/24 Eurosport from 1 Jan 2004. These bodies are to be of more scale appearance, with less down force and would be in line with international (ISRA) regulations. Unfortunately bodies to the new standard were not available in time, so the 2004 season will be run to the existing rules. The existing 2003 approved body lists will apply. So you can use your existing bodies (such as BPA BMWs) throughout 2004.

The following are existing 2003 approved body lists.  They have been  updated as new bodies are introduced. Any further bodies that may be submitted for approval, will be added if and when the BSCRA Body Approval Committee has confirmed they fit the required dimensions.  In addition to this list ALL the bodies eligible for Open group 12 are also eligible for 1/24 Euro sport.  However the aerodynamic performance of some of the bodies listed below is likely to prove superior to the bodies eligible for Open Group 12.
