Changes to BSCRA Rules for the 2011/12 Season (voting results added March 2011) |
The member's votes have now been counted and the decisions on the proposed changes are:-
A. Proposals on the driver grading system
Proposal voted in - A1 Delete Rule 2 .4 ii Anyone who has raced in a Nationals Intermediate grade final (formerly known as novice saloon final) is no longer eligible for clubman grade
Proposer’s note.
In recent year’s Nationals, the number of drivers eligible for the
Intermediate grade saloon final has been small so midfield runners from
production who run in saloon can promote themselves out of production.
The present rule discourages some clubman grade drivers from entering
saloon, and reduces the number of midfield runners in production.
Majority
voted against A2
The winner of the Nationals
Intermediate grade final will be promoted to main grade, for a duration of one racing
year, regardless of age.
Proposal
voted in -A3
The winner of the Nationals
Intermediate grade final will be promoted to main grade, regardless of age.
NOTE
–At present the drivers over 16 are promoted
to main grade permanently and those under 16 remain eligible for clubman
production (unless they are promoted for some other reason).
You can vote for A2 or A3,
but not for both. You can
vote against both.
B Other Changes to National British Championships 1/32 scale (Handbook part 3)
Proposal voted in - B1. Clubs shall be allowed to officially enter more than one team at the National Club Team Championships.
Part 3 Rule 3.1 shall read
“Each club may enter one or more teams in the National Club Team Championships…………… ” and add to rule 3.5 “A driver cannot drive for more than one team in a team event.”
Proposer’s note Some clubs will have more racers than the 4 required who want to race in the team event, this will allow clubs with large memberships to field more than one team so becoming more inclusive and open to more racers. This will increase the participation and also reduce any internal club feuding about which 4 racers will comprise the team.
Proposal voted in B2 Rule 4.1 shall read
At the National Individual Finals each year there will be a best presented body prize for each class of racing (Production, Overall Saloon, Formula 1, and Sports/GT). The meeting organisers shall appoint one or more judges. Only drivers competing in the class are eligible to enter. Bodies may only be entered in one class and may not be entered in subsequent years. The winning car must complete one heat with at least 70% of the laps of the fastest heat in that class.
NOTE – This brings the rule into line with current practice by removing the requirement for 3 judges and removes “Only bodies painted by the driver are eligible.”
Majority voted against C. Proposals on the body approval policy (link to existing BSCRA bodyshell policy)
C1. Cars based on Saloon cars with 4 or more seats that have raced in Trans-Am or Super Saloon will be added to the list of cars eligible for Saloon.
Amendment 1 to C1 - Cars based on Saloon cars with 4 or more seats that have raced in WTCC, Trans-Am, Super Saloon or any major National Touring Car Championship will be added to the list of cars eligible for Saloon. (amendment added January 2011)
Amendment 2 to C1 - Add to amendment 1 "in the last 5 years" (amendment added January 2011)
